Product Description

The plant may have brown marks on its leaves. These are natural growth marks and can't be prevented.

The Ficus is one of the most sought-after plants right now. When you buy this Ficus, there's a chance the green houseplant drops a few leaves at first, simply because it needs a moment to get used to its new surroundings.

Care & tips for the Ficus Lyrata

Luckily, the Ficus Lyrata isn't a difficult plant to care for. It is sensitive to a new environment, though, so we recommend not moving it around too often. Is the plant leaning to one side? Turn it a little each day without moving it. That way the Ficus gets an even amount of light on all its leaves. In the summer months the Ficus can have some extra plant food for a nutrient boost.

How much water does the Ficus Lyrata need?

The Ficus Lyrata's soil can stay slightly moist at all times. To begin with, we recommend giving the plant small amounts of water several times rather than one large amount in one go. That way you avoid a flood of water the plant can't handle. In summer the plant's water needs are often higher, as it uses more moisture. The Ficus also appreciates a regular misting of its leaves. Has your plant been repotted? Then always use a moisture meter!

How much light does the Ficus Lyrata need?

The Ficus Lyrata does like good sunlight. In fact, it needs it to stay beautiful and healthy. Put the plant as close to a window as you can. If the Ficus produces little new leaf, that's often a sign of too little sunlight.

Is the Ficus Lyrata toxic?

Unfortunately, the Ficus Lyrata is toxic if ingested. The sap in the stems can also irritate the skin. So take care if you have children or pets.

How is my Ficus Lyrata shipped?

This houseplant is delivered in a nursery pot. All our houseplants are shipped in boxes we designed ourselves: a snug inner fitting keeps the plant firmly in place so it can't shift in transit. Plants don't mind a day in a dark box, so your green friend arrives home in perfect condition.
