Product Description

The Schefflera Gold Capella shrub at 200 cm is a true eye-catcher: a full, tall umbrella tree with glossy green and yellow variegated leaflets, densely branched from bottom to top. Thanks to its size, it effortlessly fills an empty corner of the living room, a room with a high ceiling or a bare wall in the office. If you are looking for a large houseplant that adds height and atmosphere straight away, without waiting years for it to grow, this XL Schefflera is a great choice.

The Schefflera originally comes from Australia and Southeast Asia and is known as one of the easiest large houseplants. The variegated Gold Capella brightens up a room and suits both a sleek and a cosy interior. In our Schefflera collection you will also find smaller sizes and standard trees, and our XL plants include more tall plants that make a statement at home or in the office. Care and tips for the Schefflera Gold Capella shrub - 200 cm

Place the plant in a roomy, sturdy decorative pot with free-draining potting soil and a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom, so excess water can drain away. A plant of this height needs weight at the base: choose a pot that is not too light, so it stays stable. During the growing season, from March to September, add houseplant food to the water once every two weeks.

The Schefflera Gold Capella likes a constant temperature above 15 degrees and dislikes draughts. Turn the plant a quarter turn every now and then so it grows evenly towards the light, and wipe the leaves regularly with a damp cloth. If it becomes too wide or too tall, you can safely prune back a few branches in spring; the shrub will then grow back nice and full.

Watering the Schefflera Gold Capella shrub - 200 cm

Keep the potting soil slightly moist, but never wet. Water about 1 to 2 times a week and let the top few centimetres dry out between waterings. In winter the plant grows more slowly and needs less water. With a large pot, a moisture meter is handy: it shows you whether there is still enough water deep down in the pot.

Light requirements of the Schefflera Gold Capella shrub - 200 cm

This umbrella tree looks its best in a bright spot without harsh midday sun, for example within 0 to 3 metres of a window. The more light it gets, the better the yellow markings on the leaves stay. In a spot that is too dark, the leaves lose their variegation and the plant grows more sparsely.

Is the Schefflera Gold Capella shrub - 200 cm toxic?

The Schefflera is mildly toxic. The sap from the stems and leaves can irritate the skin and is not meant to be eaten. So keep the plant out of reach of small children and pets, and wash your hands after pruning.

How is my Schefflera Gold Capella shrub - 200 cm shipped?
