Product Description

The Daffodil bulbs Replete are bulbs of a double daffodil with full flowers: white outer petals around a dense heart of orange and white. The flowers sit on stems of around 40 centimetres and look more like a small peony than a classic daffodil. Replete flowers late in the daffodil season and so extends the spring display in your garden.

The bulbs are size 10/12. They suit the border, pots and planters by the patio or small groups in the grass, where they can naturalise. With 10 bulbs you fill a pot of about 30 centimetres, with 20 bulbs a spot in the border. With 40 bulbs you create a generous group and with 80 bulbs a whole bed; allow 30 to 50 bulbs per square metre. Combine them with daffodil bulbs in plain white or yellow, so the double flowers stand out. You will find more greenery for outdoors among our outdoor plants.

When should you plant the Daffodil bulbs Replete?

The Daffodil bulbs Replete go into the ground between mid-October and the end of November. By then the soil has cooled to below 10 °C, so the bulbs calmly form roots without coming up yet. As long as it is not freezing, you can still plant in December. A period of winter cold is needed for flowering, so do not wait until spring.

When do the Daffodil bulbs Replete flower?

The Daffodil bulbs Replete flower in April and May, when many early daffodils have already finished. A double flower stays beautiful for about two weeks. In a pot in a warm spot they flower earlier, after a cold spring later. They also last well in a vase; cut the stems when the bud is just showing colour. In a spot they like, they return every year and the clumps slowly grow larger.

Care and tips Daffodil bulbs Replete

Plant the bulbs about 12 to 15 centimetres deep, pointed end up and roughly 10 centimetres apart. A loose, well-drained soil is ideal; on heavy ground a scoop of sand in the planting hole helps. The double flowers are heavier than those of single daffodils, so choose a spot out of the wind. In a pot a drainage layer at the bottom is essential; take a look at our outdoor pots and baskets for a suitable model. Remove spent flowers and leave the foliage until it yellows by itself. A handful of bulb fertiliser when they start growing in spring is enough.

Water needs of the Daffodil bulbs Replete

After planting, the bulbs usually need no extra water unless the autumn is very dry. In pots and planters the soil dries out faster; there, water weekly from the moment the leaves appear, including during flowering. Do make sure excess water can drain away, because lasting wetness makes the bulbs rot.

Light needs of the Daffodil bulbs Replete

Place them in a sunny spot. In the sun the double flowers open most beautifully and the stems stay sturdy. A spot with a few hours of shade a day also works, but then they flower less abundantly.

Are the Daffodil bulbs Replete toxic?

The Daffodil bulbs Replete are toxic if ingested; the bulb contains most of the toxic substances. Store and plant them out of reach of pets and young children. Wear garden gloves, because the sap can irritate the skin.

How will my Daffodil bulbs Replete be shipped?
