The Strelitzia Nicolai is a tough houseplant that asks very little of you, but with a bit of attention it can grow into a genuinely impressive centrepiece. It grows from the middle, so older leaves at the bottom may yellow or dry out; simply snip those away. Give it a fixed spot and don't move it around too often. Looked after well, the Strelitzia will bring a tropical note to your home for years.
